The Bigger Deal is a book that speaks to people from all walks of life – business leaders, parents, employers, friends, family. It is a call to humans to do more with our lives, other than just existing, being a statistic and getting to the end of our lives leaving the world a much worse place than we found it. It is about living a life that lasts!
Sunny Bindra guides us to a place where we have to think about waking up from the drudge that is the daily grind and the pursuit for material possessions, power, money and fame, and to be better human beings.
While reminding us how fickle life is, this book opens up a view into the possibilities that can arise when we do better and bigger with this short and unpredictable life. Reading this book led me to reflect alot on my own life journey, and ask myself that all important question, “When you come to the end of your life and are dispensed into the next, who will notice your absence?”
As a Kenyan, this book calls on me to rise above the accepted mediocre practices, standards and ways of life that have come to define us. It is a rallying call to go back to our core as humanity and treat people with love, care and respect, to look for the greater good in everything we do, and not to be caught in the lie of amassing wealth, money and prestige that fills our media daily. It calls on me to do my best to bring change in my sphere of influence and not to get drunk on a little success. After all, as Sunny says, we are all specks on a speck!
