Did you know that in Kamba, Kitui means “where iron goods are made”? It is a reminder of the Kamba’s historical skillset as ironsmiths. The county lies in the eastern part of Kenya and has a climate suited for growth of tobacco, sisal, mangoes, maize, cassava and pigeon peas. The Ndengu Revolution of 2017 saw Kitui expand its agricultural reach with the introduction of green gram as a primary crop. Finally, farmers could farm and earn from growing green grams.
