We love our Kenyan selves, and all around us are examples of everyday things that speak to our Kenyanness, so we collaborated with Kenyan kids, Kenyan animators, Kenyan writers, and Kenyan musicians to come up with #KeAlphabet: something that showcases our Kenyan selves, our African selves, our human selves.

Literacy was at the top of our minds when we embarked on part 2 of developing the #KeAlphabet. What made these animations unique was the use of Kenyan names for the characters in the animations as well as the relatable Kenyanness of the environments.

Hummingbird Tales Collection
Paukwa’s Hummingbird Tales are animated video stories of inspirational everyday Kenyans, retold to infuse positive values in young Kenyans. Stories are an ideal tool for learning as they guide children through lived experiences. The animations provide an entertaining and interactive way to learn the values of service, excellence, responsibility, hard work, responsibility, justice, compassion, patriotism, creativity, and determination.
